Judy A.
Newcomb graduated from the University of Alabama in 1975 with a Bachelor of
Science degree in Political Science and Economics. Judy graduated Magna Cum
Laude from the Cumberland School of Law, Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama
in 1979. Judy was a Dean’s student at both the University of Alabama and
Cumberland School of Law.
Judy’s
stellar performance as a student and successful career as a prosecutor are the
foundation for her commitment to the citizens of Baldwin County. As the
people’s lawyer the District Attorney is dedicated to prosecuting individuals
who commit crimes in Baldwin County.
After
serving 15 years as Chief Assistant District Attorney, Judy assumed office March
25th, 2006. In addition to prosecuting criminals, Judy’s goal is to
educate the public in Crime Prevention. One of her first acts as District
Attorney was to complete the process to secure a grant of over $400,000 for the
development of the Baldwin County Hurricane Fraud Task Force. The task force
will educate the public in types of Hurricane Fraud to prevent crime and
prosecute scam artists who take advantage of the Baldwin County residents.
